My friend Nick

I got to know Nick back in 2003 I think when I was introduced to him by a mutual friend.

Nick was a kind and considerate person. I always found him very supportive and caring. I recently lost my mother after a long period of fighting cancer and Nick always checked in with me to see how I was doing and he was always very supportive.

When he passed away I looked through all our text messages over the last couple of years and there was never a bad word between us, only positivity, good humour and of course countless football discussions. He loved Chelsea and Chelsea games without him will be very different now.

We often watched football together, either he would come to my place often with one of the kids or we would head to the Kings Head to watch a game and have a pint.

To be honest he was not too sure about Tuchel as the new manager, but I am hoping he is watching from above because they are playing so well now and I know that would have made him very happy.

Nick had a great sense of humour, always very witty with his remarks - I have been on the receiving end of quite a few of them and some of them can still make me smile.

I counted Nick as one of my best friends and the last year he was probably the person I saw the most in London so his death leaves a big void. Watching a match at the Kings Head without Nick will not be the same going forward.

Nick will be greatly missed not just by me but by a lot of people, who were all lucky enough to count him as their friend.
