Where does anyone begin with Nicko?

There was a slightly wild, pony-tailed and unrestrained guy who just beamed confidence and I was jealous of his freedoms.  That was Nicko.  He didnt subscribe to all of the norms and social expectations, and that is why I did and always will admire him.

We had our disagreements over many things, but we were good friends, with many more things we agreed about than didnt, and he was always one of the first names on the team sheet when we were organising a night out.  In fact he gave a lot of us confidence to tackle things we had never thought to challenge before.  That is a great legacy.

I hadnt seen Nicko for a long time but he was just one of those people who, once known, was never forgotten, and despite us fighting over ladies we both liked, was a top boy and even though we were not in contact recently, the world must be a poorer place for not having him around.

For one he was one of the very few people who could pull off a white tux at a ball.  That takes some skill.

Farewell Nicko.  I will always have happy memories of our strong friendship back in Dundee. And that bloody cat who nearly took my eye out, that you thought was hilarious.

Rest well dear friend.

Tom
